We have regular job opportunities for people to join our team at Proper Job Resource Centre. We require a team with a broad range of skills and interests to specialise in specific areas such as composting, clothing, tools and site maintenance. We ensure our staff are fully trained and supported to fulfil their role and to be able to develop themselves on the job. We currently have two positions available at our new UPTOWN store.

Work at UPTOWN

We have an exciting opportunity for you to become part of the Proper Job team. We are opening our UPTOWN store in Chagford Square.We are looking for a new enthusiastic and creative team to run our new shop which will be situated in the old Post Office. We aim to benefit the local community both financially and environmentally.

In this shop, we will sell a selection of quality items from the Proper Job Resource Centre, some that have been upcycled, restored and repaired, as well as upcycled items from local crafts people. We will also sell good quality and affordable clothes, furniture, homewares and books etc.

Get on board

Get involved in the inner workings of Proper Job and support our organization to grow and thrive. Let your name stand as a candidate for the board of voluntary directors. Specific strengths and experience we’re looking for to include in our board: accounting, book keeping, fundraising, human resources, running profitable events and businesses, entrepreneurship, “big picture” people and people with a general enthusiasm for recycling, sustainability, our community and local job creation.

Muck in as a volunteer

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us sort and price reusable items, to help to plan events and to upcycle broken things. If you have some spare time and would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you. Please email info@proper-job.org


Attend our events

We host workshops on topics like composting, decluttering and repair. We also host fundraising events such as jumble sales, coffee mornings and gig nights and don’t miss out on our community open days. Sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date with what is going on and check our news items regularly.

Donate money

Help us to achieve our potential. At Proper Job we are always thinking of new ways to reduce landfill and conserve the world’s natural resources through various projects, however these projects often need extra funding. This means we are extremely happy to receive donations to help us to host these worthwhile events.

Alternatively, you could donate and help us develop the Proper Job yard. We currently trade out of semi-permanent structures which need constant repair and maintenance.
