We are living through unprecedented times and it is amazing to see how we are all adapting to the changes. As a charity firmly rooted within the community we are dedicated to providing support where we can.
The Proper Job Resource Centre, Uptown and The Courtyard Café are closed for the foreseeable future and we have had to furlough 10 members of staff. The operations of these premises are extremely difficult, if not impossible to continue with such strict social distancing regulations. This has significantly affected our trading income and we are going to have to work hard to spring back from this. We value the support of our community more than ever.
Our trading arm The Courtyard Shop is continuing to trade and is providing local food and produce, a vital resource for our rural community. The Courtyard team are also working very hard to provide a free delivery service for those who are vulnerable or self-isolating within the community.
Events and workshops planned throughout the summer have been cancelled. Including our Community Fixathalon, many repair workshops, Proper Job Music Day and our festival and show stalls. However, we are not going to let this get us down! We are looking forward to the future the board of Trustees are busy working behind the scenes to ensure that the future of Proper Job is safeguarded, and when the time is right we will be ready to serve our community again.
Keep an eye on our social media platforms, we will be sharing tips and hosting virtual workshops on how to reduce reuse and recycle whilst in isolation.
