To celebrate National Compost Week Dr Compost, AKA Nicky Scott, is back to teach you everything you need to know about making your own compost!
Making your own compost is one of the easiest things you can do to reduce your waste. Not only does it reduce waste it is a really valuable product which helps build healthy soils, increasing both water holding on poor sandy soils but also allowing drainage on heavy compacted and clay soils.
Nicky will talk you through the basic concepts of what you can do to create a living, peat free compost heap at home in your garden or allotment. You can even make compost if you don’t have a garden, using your vegetable peelings and other organic waste materials.
Why dispose of your green waste when it can be such a useful resource? Not only is it a great resource but it helps to increase biodiversity introducing insects, fungi and birds to your garden.
Tickets require a nominal donation of your choice to secure your place.
