Join us at Endecott House, Chagford, for a fun-filled morning designed for families who want to celebrate Halloween while caring for our planet! This engaging workshop will focus on creating sustainable and upcycled decorations, showcasing how families can enjoy the festivities in an environmentally friendly way. We will then share a delicious homemade pumpkin soup lunch together.
**What to Expect:**
1. **Upcycled Decoration Stations:**
Come ready to create! Families will have access to various upcycled materials—old fabrics, cardboard, glass jars, and more. Participants will craft unique Halloween decorations such spooky lanterns, pine cone bats and cute pumpkin creatures—all while learning about the benefits of reusing materials.
2. **Pumpkin Education Corner:**
Instead of carving pumpkins and wasting the edible parts, we’ll have a special station dedicated to the delicious side of pumpkins! Learn about different pumpkin varieties, their nutritional benefits, and discover tasty recipes to try at home.
4. **Costume Swap:**
Encourage creativity and sustainability by bringing gently used Halloween costumes to swap with others! This allows families to find new (to them) costumes without having to purchase new ones, fostering a spirit of sharing and recycling. We will also bring up some costumes and accessories from the Resource Centre.
