Proper Job are offering you the chance to find out more about where our waste goes and what is done with it.
At MVV Plymouth’s Energy from Waste Combined Heat and Power Facility over 300 lorries deliver waste every week which is then burnt at temperatures of more than 1000oC to generate useful energy in the form of electricity and steam.
Join us on Monday 6th November for a free tour around the facility.
The site tour includes a visit to the tipping hall, control room and back of the grate to view the waste fire; weather, time and interest permitting, the tour can also take in the roof garden, turbine hall, ash bunker and air-cooled condensers.
Proper Job will arrange free transport from Chagford and Moretonhampstead to Plymouth in the form of a convoy of shared cars that will leave Chagford at 9.00am and Moreton at 9.10am. All ages and abilities welcome.
Please note to secure your place you will have to put down a deposit of £5 which will be refundable on the day. Tea and coffee will be provided by MVV.
