Changes are a foot at Chagford Pool! Following the retirement of Pam Pidgeon after 40 years of dedicated service in Chagford swimming pool’s Tea Shed the Courtyard Café are taking over with their own lines of healthy snacks, from Bombay mix to guacamole back to the legendary Taw River Dairy ice creams and sorbets. Wherever possible products will be organic and locally sourced and the teas and coffees will be of the same high standard as we serve in the café in town.

Chagford Pool has seen many upgrades over recent years including UV filtration, hot showers and most importantly air-source heat pumps. Fed by river water the pool was gifted to the residents of Chagford by the historic Hayter-Hames family and is the largest open-air fresh water pool in the South West.

The Snack Shack is the latest in a line of projects by Proper Job, dedicated to serving the community and reducing waste, after the opening of Uptown late last year. The Snack Shack will be adhering to our recycling and composting ethics with teabags and coffee grounds going back to Proper Job to help create our fabulous compost. We are looking forward to working with the Swimming Pool team and helping locals and tourists alike warm up or cool down after a dip in what must be one of Chagford’s greatest assets.
