I joined Proper Job to help continue to support reuse recycling and education projects and to try and develop PJ‘s influence . It’s such a great resource for the town, the more people who know about our aims and support us the stronger our local offer and influence can become. It’s not all meetings there’s a fun and very sociable part of supporting PJ by helping with local events such as fundraising at Chagford Music Day and second hand fashion show to name just two.

I dislike unnecessary wastage and am a strong believer in sustainability and Proper Job’s ethos of reclaim, reuse, recycle. I have been a trustee of a number of charities and hope I can use this experience to help Proper Job grow and strengthen its position both locally and as an exemplar for similar organisations across the country. 

I volunteer at Proper Job because I am passionate about recycling and sustainability. I believe they are doing a fantastic job in supporting the community towards achieving this.
With 9 years’ experience employed in the waste and recycling industry, I feel that I have a sound knowledge of the industry Proper Job is operating in. My aim is to share this knowledge to support them to meet their objectives.
With 38 years’ experience of working in and managing Finance teams, I have a breadth of financial and accounting knowledge that I can share to ensure Proper Job have a robust financial reporting structure, which in turn will support their future.

I volunteer for Proper Job so I can put something back into my local community and because I really believe in what they do and want to support them to continue to be successful.  I think they have done a fantastic job so far and I feel very grateful and privileged to be part of their future.

I am a retired headteacher who has long admired the work of Proper Job and Uptown. I hope to offer some relevant experience of board-level thinking, as well as some practical assistance if I can.

I love Proper Job’s values, ethos, and impact.  It is always a joy to visit the yard or Uptown, with new discoveries every time. 

I am passionate about reducing our society’s environmental impact and about developing inclusive, connected communities.  Having lived for a year at the Findhorn Community in Scotland, I know from personal experience how low impact we can live our lives. 

I look forward to working with the team to develop our strategic thinking, user engagement, and public profile.
